Colonel Spendley is currently assigned as the weather division chief at Headquarters, Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Previously, he served as the deputy director, Unmanned Aircraft and Weather Divisions, AFSOC A3; Intelligence Plans and Operations Directorate, Headquarters Department of The Army G-2, Pentagon, Arlington; commander, 17th Operational Weather Squadron, Hickam AFB, HI; chief, Combat Weather Division, Joint Special Operations Command, Ft Bragg, N.C.; and operations officer, 26th Operational Weather Squadron, Barksdale AFB, La. Spendley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Cornell University, and a Master of Science degree in meteorology from North Carolina State University.
